An innovative initiative is taking place in the Philippines to bring sustainable lighting to homes in impoverished communities. Empty plastic bottles are installed in the roof, filled with water and bleach they refract sunlight. These “solar light bulbs” provide light equivalent to a 55watt light bulb.
See how they’re made here. From Visual News
I heard about this on NPR. The practicality of it is amazing for low income nations. It’s amazing.
This was me, all convention long. Met a ton of Yu Yu fans, and even had a long discussion with a guy about the anime and manga and the differences between them. He was musing on the thought of making a Byakko cosplay when I left him, and despite living in San Diego area, was hoping to come to SacAnime and seeing me and thunderspeaks.
Pretty pleased with how everyone I talked to about Murugu thought I was a genius for using the Dr Suess plush as a base as well

I’d like to introduce you all to an amazing Youko, who made a seriously awesome Rose whip that moves pretty much like it does in the show.
I would hug him, but he is a no hugs type guy. Warded me off with his rose last year when I attempted it.
Check the comments on this photo out though. He had generously provided a link to his rose whip build processes, so any aspiring Kurama cosplayer who wants a really good whip should check it out.
